"My Three Angels" Presented by Onstage Theatre March 17 - April 1, 2017

Opening March 17th at the Campbell Theatre is Onstage's production of “My Three Angels.†A delightful story of three convicts who come to the rescue of shop keeper Felix Ducotel. Set at Christmas time in Cayenne, French Guiana, the year 1910, the three convicts are employed as roofers to repair a family's roof that is desperate for maintenance. On the way from France is an evil-minded cousin, to oust Felix from his general store and close the business. The three convicts-- two of which our murderers and the third a swindler take on the evil cousin. All three have warm hearts and are passionate believers in true justice.
“My Three Angels†is written by Sam & Bella Spewack and is based on "La Cuisine Des Anges" by Albert Husson. It was also made into a film called “We're No Angels†in 1955 and had Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray and Peter Ustinov playing the three convicts. The first production of the play was in 1953 and was directed by Jose Ferrer.
The three convicts are played by Montgomery Paulsen, Marion Daniel Cowart and Edwin Peabody. Jack Karasch plays the shopkeeper and Remington Stone is seen as Henri Trochard the evil cousin. Other cast members are Kim Poppe (wife of Felix) and Courtney Shaffer as his daughter. Sheilah Morrison, Christopher Dewey and Dean Engle complete the cast.
The show is directed by Randy Anger and setting is by Diane McRice, with costumes by C.C. Carden and Gertie Vizay.
Performances are March 17 thru April 1 on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, at 8:00 PM, and matinees at 2:30 PM on Sundays. For further information or to make reservations please call 925 518-3277. The Campbell theater is located at 636 Ward Street in Martinez.
