MY Museum’s Celebrates Fly Fishing This August
Meet Geoff Malloway from Central Coast Fly Fishing Friday, August 30th at 3:15 p.m.
Take me fishing! MY Museum located at 425 Washington Street in Monterey, celebrates fly fishing with a special guest presentation! On Friday, August 30th from 3:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. meet Geoff Malloway from Central Coast Fly Fishing.
Malloway believes getting kids involved in fly fishing is extremely important. Fly fishing teaches kids values such as the importance of all life on our planet and why that needs to be passed on from generation to generation. The children will learn the importance of conservation as well as the reasoning behind it. Kids acquire new skills and learn many fascinating facts about trout, their environment, and feeding habits but most importantly…how to catch them on a fly rod!
Attending the MY Museum fishing class, kids will learn to cast, knot tying, rigging the rods and fly selection. The first 50 kids will also enjoy a fish shaped cookie made by Chef Brandon Miller, from Mundaka, who is an avid fly fishing enthusiast. Entry is included with your admission to MY Museum for the day.
The program is complimentary with paid admission to MY Museum and free to all MY Museum members. Space is limited so reservations are encouraged. For more information, call MY Museum (831) 649-6444.
