Join us for an evening of honoring the immigrants who bring food to our table.
Behind every great meal you eat and every bit of food you buy, there are the work of many hands. Many of those hands belong to immigrants yet their work is mostly invisible.
These are Kitchen Heros. They may be kitchen professionals and they may simply be the people we eat dinner with. They are our parents, our partners, or our friends. In light of our national climate, it’s time we come together to celebrate immigrants and our shared immigrant roots.
Come join us for a delicious, soulful, and heartfelt opportunity to connect with people from across the Mosaic of Humanity that makes us truly the United States.

Where did this event come from
Jesse has been working with OIHS Students since 2014 at an event called the Global Youth Peace Summit. Early this year, in light of the immigration ban, and after another long day in the Kitchen, Chef Jesse was struck with the idea that immigrants deserved to be honored and celebrated. His most inspiring kitchen moments have come with the young people of OIHS and he wanted to find a way to give back at a time of need for their community. So the #Mykitchenhero campaign and event were born.
