Affluent archaeology professor Dr. Sam Hess has life is turned upside down when his assistant stabs him with a cursed blade, turning him into a vampire. However, due to studio re-cuts, it was rarely seen in its intended form until the 2000s, when a single preserved director's cut was found and re-released.
