Monte Bello Hike with ACE-Club

Spend the day hiking in Monte Bello Open Space Preserve. The 2,822 acre preserve has a variety of terrain and contains a diverse amount of wildlife, including red-tailed hawks, black-tailed deer, coyotes, rabbits and bobcats. Monte Bello is very popular with bicyclists and hikers and interconnects with several of the other open space preserves, including Los Trancos, Rancho San Antonio and Skyline Ridge.
Our six mile hike will be take us through the grasslands and forests, across Steven's Creek and along part of Steven's Creek Canyon. During the way we will be at the top of Black Mountain, which provides scenic views of the Santa Cruz mountains, Mt. Hamilton and Santa Clara Valley. There will be some climbing, but suitable for all levels.

Meet at 9:30am at our meeting location then proceed to the Monte Bello parking lot. Restrooms at the trailhead.
