MLK Day at Museum of the African Diaspora

The Museum is offering free admission and some fun family activities all day Jan 17 from 11am-5pm as well as an online program that day led by museum docents, looking at images of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MoAD will celebrate the national observance of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday as a Day of Service, providing FREE admission to the Museum and family activities with the Prescott Circus Theater, sidewalk chalk art with Jamie Treacy, and a scavenger hunt in the galleries. Come reflect on the importance of MLK's vision for a world of peace, justice, equality, and inclusion through MoAD's current exhibitions Amoako Boafo: Soul of Black Folks; Billie Zangewa: Thread for a Web Begun; Sam Vernon: Impass of Desires; Beyond the Sky; and MoAD Emerging Artist Vincent Miranda.

Come together to celebrate the life and achievements of one of our nation's greatest heroes.

Or join MoAD free online for a special edition of ART AS WE SEE IT, a program series led by museum docents, looking at images of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from 2-3:15pm that day.
