DOG LOVERS FROM THE BAY AREA GATHER TO
MARCH AND RALLY TO SAVE DOG WALKING AREAS
IN THE GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (GGNRA)
WHAT:
Mighty Mutt March - Join dog and recreation lovers from throughout the Bay Area for a march and rally to preserve access to the GGNRA for people with dogs. At this 11th hour, we need to show up in force to protect our access to the places we love. The march will be followed by an Earth Day cleanup.
WHEN:
Saturday, April 23, 11 AM to 1 PM
WHO:
This event is sponsored by Save Our Recreation, SFDOG, Marin County DOG, Coastside DOG, Crissy Field Dog Group, Ft. Funston Dog Walkers, SF Professional Dog Walkers, DogPAC, Point Isabel Dog Owners, Albany Landfill Dog Owners Group, Lamorinda Dogs and others.
WHERE:
Gather at the west side of Crissy Airfield (across from Stillwell Hall, 650 Old Mason Street) and march to East Beach.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Despite opposition from thousands of Bay
Area residents and the Boards of Supervisors of San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo, the National Park Service is moving full steam ahead with a plan to cut dog-walking areas in the Golden Gate Recreation Area (GGNRA) by 90%. This would be the largest loss of public access in GGNRA’s history. We need to show the Park Service that we mean it when we say we want to keep open, recreational access to the GGNRA. Join the march to save recreational dog walking in the GGNRA!
ADMISSION:
Free and open to the public
