The Presidio Trust, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the City of San Francisco invite you to be part of the official City and County of San Francisco 149th Memorial Day Observance. The annual ceremony at the Presidio, established in 1868, is the largest Memorial Day commemoration event on the West Coast. The ceremony will remember and honor the one million Americans killed while serving in the United States armed forces. The program will connect the public to the remarkable commitment and sacrifices made by active duty military personnel, veterans and their families.
Schedule:
10:30 am: Grand March with Veterans (Begins at the Presidio Officers’ Club)
11 am to Noon: Formal Ceremony with Military Dignitaries, Veteran Speakers, and Live Music (at San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio)
Noon: 21-Gun Salute by the U.S. Army’s Pacific Division 75th Training Command (Pershing Square, opposite the Presidio Officers’ Club)
Noon to 2 pm: Community Picnic, Food for Purchase, Community Service, Kids Crafts (Main Parade Ground)
