Come one, come all, to our hallowed Meet Market, the last Saturday of every month from noon ‘til 5 pm. Part farmer’s market, part gourmet foodstuffs, with a little bit of pure artistry thrown in for good measure, it’s an event that could only happen within the walls of 53B. Depending on the month, everything from just-picked veggies to artisanal baked goods to handcrafted giftware to ethereal floral design are available to be ogled and, yes, purchased. Grab a glass of our wine (it’s the only price of admission) and wander and gander to your heart’s content. It’s a new mix of purveyors each month, so no two Meet Markets are the same—but we can guarantee that each one is one hundred percent wondrous.
This month we are featuring a handful of new and returning vendors such as:
//Crescent Farm// An Organic Farm growing food for Santa Cruz and the greater Bay Area. They will have seasonal produce such as squash, zucchini, french butter pears, tomatoes, egg plants, basil, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, avocados...the whole package!
//Turri Family Farm// grass fed, grass finished natural California beef, summer sausages.
//Bar Jars// 4 oz. Mason jars full of deviled ham, smoked trout, fava bean hummus and such, made by former 15 Romolo chef Larry Piaskowy.
//ipie// small, double-crust fruit pie baked with organic fruit (when possible) sourced locally and baked in small batches. About the size of a regular-size cupcake, an ipie can be dressed up with ice cream for an elegant dinner party dessert or eaten out of hand for an on the go snack.
