Media Mavens: The Art and Compromise of Selling Good News

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at World Affairs Council of Northern California (see times)
There are few tools more powerful than the media to drive opinion and action. Leaders from film, print and television take on the double challenge: How do we motivate and make our own media for social change?

Speakers will feature Jeremy Gilley, the British director of "Peace One Day" in his U.S. debut reveals how he unleashed the power of film to reach 600 million people worldwide, Shimon Peres, the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan, and move the United Nations into establishing a World Peace Day -- a day of global cease-fire. Other leading panelists include Cheryl Woodward, founder of AskQuestions.org and high-tech marketing guru Sylvia Paull.
