Meadow will be hosting a panel of tax experts 2/27 to help make sense of all the cannabis taxes and how they effect your business. This workshop will address many hotly debated questions around how taxes are calculated, how to communicate this to patients, what to show on your receipts and tax payments, and when and how taxes should be paid.
Bring your tax questions and get answers. Some of the topics we will discuss:- Calculating and paying excise taxes on inventory purchased in 2017 vs. 2018, or in arms length vs. non-arms length transactions.- Calculating excise tax on shipping fees, wholesale discounts and rebates.- When to compound taxes (e.g. sales tax including excise tax) and how to accurately calculate these “taxes on taxes.”- Tax exemptions, who they apply to and on what products.- Figuring out taxes on loyalty and rewards programs.
To make this all a bit more bearable (and maybe even fun!) we will cap it off with a happy hour to help us mull everything over. Bring your notepads, questions and favorite sativa.
