MCD Special Event: Designing Your Work Life (@Home)

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Don't miss MCD's upcoming mini-workshop with Bill Burnett and Dave Evans around their new book "Designing Your Work Life" - moderated by Gretchen Wustrack.

The Museum of Craft and Design welcome Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, authors of the #1 New York Times bestseller "Designing Your Life", for mini-workshop and an introduction to their new book, "Designing Your Work Life; How to Thrive and Change and Find Happiness at Work."

"Designing Your Work Life" is about jobs, and work, and finding the right "work-fit' for you. Bill and Dave wrote it to help folks they've met since the release of Designing Your Life. These people told them they didn't like their jobs or their boss. And it's a book for those bosses, who are trying to motivate their employees but aren't getting anywhere. And it is a book about the future of work, and "future-proofing" your skills for when the robots come.

And, in the COVID-19 new normal, the ideas and tools in "Designing Your Work Life" couldn't be more timely or important. Bill and Dave will walk you through adopting the mindsets of a designer. This will include an explanation of radical acceptance, prototyping your way forward, and the importance of telling your authentic story. Now that everyone's job is at risk (and maybe you've already been laid-off) you need to think like a designer, and move forward with empathy and resilience. Bill and Dave will teach you how, as we all learn to navigate our collective uncertain future.

Signed copies of "Designing Your Life", "Designing Your Work Life", and "The Designing Your Life Workbook" are available to purchase online at shop.sfmcd.org.

This event will take place via Zoom and broadcasted on MCD's Facebook.
