"We are thrilled to welcome seven writers, offering a rich multiplicy of voices and theatrical imaginations to the Magic Family through our Virgin Play Festival," said Sonia Fernandez, Magic Theatre's Associate Artistic Director and Festival Producer. "The Virgin Play Festival brings playwrights to Magic, giving each writer the time and space to create and experiment. It is an opportunity for us to empower playwrights--to get to know new writers, and to deepen our relationship with our past favorites. For our subscribers, we offer a special opportunity to be in the room with a play when it is still raw and in-process. It's our pleasure to invite Magic Family patrons to join us for a fabulous theatre binge over seven reading-filled days."

When their master plan of vengeance goes awry, Randi and Remus's fantasy of retaliation crumbles into disturbing revelations. Wednesday, December 11th, 7pm
La Prietty Guoman, a quick-talking, foul-mouthed drag queen whore from Veracruz, takes us on a self-affirming, self-relying cabaret performance de su vida. La Prietty Guoman explores the way that existing truthfully--and lip-syncing your heart out--can be a brilliant, dangerous, and radical act of defiance, henny.

Saturday, December 14th, 7pm
Ancient Khmer dance unites this Cambodian-American family across generations. Go pushes us to question the dissonance between the expectations placed upon us and our own internal rhythms.
Salon and Book reading with Anne Whiteside
Sunday, December 15th, 1pm
Join us for a salon, prior to the reading of Prayer for the French Republic, with author Anne Whiteside, who will share pieces from her work-in- progress: The Moon in Splinters. Part Memoir, part reconstructed history, The Moon in Splinters tells the story of Anne's maternal uncle, a young agent sent by Churchill's "secret army" to support emerging resistance groups in France. The book follows both his clandestine life and betrayal and the author's extraordinary trail of discoveries.
Prayer for the French Republic
Written by Joshua Harmon
Directed by David Cromer
Sunday, December 15th, 2:30pm
Moving fluidly within the past and present of five generations of the Benhamou family, Prayer for the French Republic illustrates the history of trauma and prejudice embedded within the Jewish identity. What does home look like in a world that hates? When will we admit that we, as a global society, have not come nearly as far as we thought?

Nellie is a solitary farmer whose hopes for anonymity are thwarted when a stranger arrives with an unnerving proposition. This Montana-gothic macabre comedy, rooted at the intersection of justice, greed, and blood, confronts the nature of necessary evils and unlikely bonds. Send in the pigs.
