Named after the famous civil rights leader, this bookstore is dedicated to the education, history, and future of African Americans. The store features children's books, for storytelling and educational books used in school, and also literary books that document the history of the African American people from an Afrocentric point of view. Most of the books are written by Black authors.
The Oakland store is located between the Lower Temescal District and Emeryville, right next to MacArthur BART Station.
