April 14th 6pm-9pm
Led by designer and artist Michelle Chandra.
Maps are more than just literal representations of physical locations. This two-day course will explore the myriad ways artists have played with the concept of maps and cartography. We will look at both digital physical artistic representations of maps and geographic data along with work that is more performative. We will review how to find geographic data for our own artwork, how to prepare geographic data for 2D and 3D artwork. The course will end with reviewing student projects for feedback and assistance. The course costs $180 ($30/hr x 6).
