Management and Leadership of the Nonprofit Sector is a five-week intensive course focused on the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to launch or fast track a successful nonprofit career.
Participants will walk away from this course with a working knowledge of:
• the history, contributions, and unique characteristics of the nonprofit sector and its management,
• basic laws, regulations and professional standards that govern nonprofit sector operations, knowledge of risk and crisis management, ethics and decision-making, and
• human resource fundamentals, such as recruiting and retaining top talent.
Learner Expectations
Come with an open mind and willingness to share your experiences and ideas. An important part of the learning process comes from engagement with your peers.
• 1-2 hours per week of teamwork in the form of discussion forums
• 2-3 hours per week of individual work including reading, videos and writing assignments
• Completion of all the assignments, a multiple choice exam and a course artifact
