Workshop Description
We know that storytelling matters, but how do we know what makes a good story, or which types of stories are appropriate or optimal for a given strategy? In this workshop we’ll review the basics of narrative theory and explore the elements that help to construct a rich and compelling brand or personal narrative.
Bio
EJ Harkness is an experience designer and strategist in Oakland, California. She holds a BA in English from Brandeis University and an MA in English from UCLA, where she also taught. EJ’s doctoral research at UCLA spanned poetics, narrative, and media, with an emphasis on the impact of radically disruptive communications technologies on forms of culture and discourse. As a product manager and content strategist, EJ has worked with startups including Fluid Financial, Sourcery, and BlueOwl. She spent two years at Fabernovel as a content strategist and consultant, helping to craft the voice of PARISOMA and parse trends in Silicon Valley for corporate innovation programs.
