On Nov. 9, Sunday Assembly Silicon Valley celebrates "Birthday One" and features its London-based founder and comedian, Sanderson Jones, harnessing telepresence robotics technology to spar with comedian Ian Harris, a Santa Cruz native. Harris is known for his stand-up routines about critical thinking.
Jones will be able to see, hear and move among Assembly members operating an interactive Double Robotics robot. The automaton will allow Jones to bring his iPad face to eye level with participants as they speak with him through microphones.
The celebration includes The Lovely Hearts Club Band, refreshments and children's activities. For more information and parking directions, visit the website or

About Sunday Assembly
Sunday Assembly is an international community movement often described as all the best bits of church without the religion.
The radically inclusive Sunday Assembly Silicon Valley (SASV) is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life, welcomes all people and supports everyone fulfilling their potential. Monthly meetings feature live pop music, Ted-style talks, inspirational stories, and socializing over coffee and cake. SASV's congregation focuses on purpose and action. It supports local nonprofits through hands-on help and donations. The organization offers "smoups" -- small activity groups that gather around member interests, including book reading, self-improvement, and beer tasting.
Started in London in February 2013 by comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans, Sunday Assembly (sundayassembly.com) is based on a belief that every human being can benefit from inclusion in a community.Part of a global movement for wonder and good, Sunday Assembly's motto is "Live better, help often and wonder more." There are 63 Sunday Assembly groups spanning three continents. Twenty-five groups will launch early in 2015.
