Join Dr Inkwell and 2018 New York International Spirits Competition Winners Loch & Union for an exclusive tour, tasting and a class about the botanicals used in dry gin. Not bad for a distillery whose first run was in 2017! At this private event, you will meet Co-Founder and Master Distiller Colin Baker and Director of Operations Gian P. Nelson, and learn about their dreams for the future of Bay Area craft spirits. On the tour we will taste their American Dry Gin, their grain to glass Barley Gin, and a few secret projects they are working on (in barrels?). You'll get a chance to see the Loch & Union stills, which were custom built in Germany, and learn how Gian runs them. Many craft spirits makers are start-ups in their own vein, but you'll see by the size of the stills that Loch & Union have big plans. After our tour, Dr Inkwell, Colin and Gian will host a gin botanicals workshop, where you'll get a chance to learn about 10 herbs commonly used in gin. Smell, taste, and then make your own "gin" botanical infusion using a neutral spirit!
