Description

Theodore “Ted” Eliot Jr. (ret.) will be in conversation with Dr. Donna Brasset-Shearer, a cultural anthropologist with a background in international relations, discussing US foreign policy in Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea and the Trump Administration.

Ambassador Eliot is a retired Foreign Service officer who served in the American embassy in Iran and headed the Iran Desk in the Department of State 1963-69, and was Executive Secretary of the Department 1969-73, U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan 1973-78 and Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University 1978-85, before moving to Sonoma.
