Limited seating: Portuguese Wine Seminar with Luis Pato

We are incredibly excited to welcome a true legend in the shop next week for our Portuguese wine seminar: Luis Pato.  Also sometimes known as "the father of Baga," Luis and his family have undoubtedly made the wines of Bairrada what they are today.  Bairrada is a region south of Porto along the Atlantic coast.  The maritime climate, along with the clay and limestone soils, is the key to the red wines of Bairrada, which are characterized by a natural freshness.  In the best examples, this brightness is retained as the wines age and leads to a rare elegance and grace that is hard to replicate. While Luis is most well known for his red wines made from the Baga grape, we will be tasting some of his rarer white wines to see their evolution over time as well. This tasting will be held in our SF downstairs tasting room next Wednesday October 17th from 5:30pm-7:00pm.  Here is the lineup for what we are tasting:Luis Pato, Rose Sparkling Baga, NVLuis Pato, Vinhas Velhas Branco, 2016Luis Pato, Vinhas Velhas Branco, 1991Luis Pato, Vinhas Velhas Tinto, 2013Luis Pato, Rebel Tinto, 2015Luis Pato, Quinta do Moinho, 2000
