LightHouse Listening presents blind explorer Erik Weihenmayer with NPR's Davia Nelson

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Davia Nelson, public radio superstar of the Kitchen Sisters and Peabody Award-winning journalist, is coming to LightHouse to live interview Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind person to summit Mount Everest. They are doing away with the usual ‘inspiration talk’ in favor of a candid conversation about imagination, non-visual exploration, and what drives Erik to take these journeys.

A “listening party for ears only,” the LightHouse Listenings series is a celebration of the aural medium designed to create a space for conversation, creativity, and sound that connects blind and sighted audiences over a shared experience.

About the Host:

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired provides education, training, advocacy, and community for blind individuals in California and around the world. Founded and based in San Francisco since 1902, the LightHouse is one of the largest and most established comprehensive blindness organizations in North America, with a wide variety of programs to suit a wide variety of needs, as well as a rich network of blindness advocates and professionals.
