I just didn’t get that Comedy Central show Lewis Black’s The Root of All Evil. What exactly was the point of having a couple of comics yammering about whether Tila Tequila or Kim Jong-il is worse, when they had Black sitting there, primed and ready to rant? Luckily, there are purer ways to absorb Black’s comedy into your bloodstream. After 13 years, he’s still going strong on the Daily Show with his “Back in Black” bits, and his newest concert film, Stark Raving Black, had a theatrical release last month before going to cable. But undoubtedly the best delivery system of all is to catch the always political and nearly always apoplectic comic in his stand-up act. - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com
