Leveling Up: Software Management Best Practices

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Nearly everyone who works in technology has had a bad, incompetent, or unskilled manager at some point during their tenure.  The results of bad management often mean talented developers move on to other companies or leave technology all together.  So, how might this change to keep both businesses running smoothly and technology communities together?

In other words, what advice could developers who want to move forward into a management position take from those who’ve been there for a while?  This event will answer questions and solve predicaments newly minted managers may face when they do level up in their careers.

Come with your questions, but here’s a few we hope to address:

Does becoming a manager always mean you can’t code anymore?

What does a long-term career in software development mean?

What are attributes valued in a software development manager?

How do you cultivate a managerial style and gain management skills?

Our panelists include:

Sarah Mei - Chief Consultant at DevMynd

Huned Botee - VP Engineering at ZeroCater

Claire Hough - VP Engineering at Udemy

Adarsh Pandit - Managing Partner at Cylinder Digital

Beverages and refreshments will be provided prior to the panel discussion.  Please be sure to reserve your spot ASAP as space is limited.
