Join the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco at our inaugural event of Page Views: 'Monet the Early Years' for our first ever book club!
Located at the Legion of Honor's Florence Gould Theater, we will discuss ‘The Judgment of Paris: The Revolutionary Decade That Gave The World Impressionism’ by Ross King. In this compelling non-fiction work, King describes the period surrounding the rise of the Impressionists in France and their larger place in modern art history. This parallels ‘Monet: The Early Years,’ the first major US exhibition devoted exclusively to the initial phase of Claude Monet’s career. Our goal is to deepen engagement with works on view by pairing special exhibitions with a companion text. Together, we’ll celebrate art history, literature, and the thrill of lively discussion among friends new and old.
Entry to the Florence Gould Theater for this event is free. Fees apply to visit ‘Monet: The Early Years’ and our permanent collection - we highly recommend purchasing tickets to Monet to enrich your experience!
