Left Bank Brasserie Hosts Jamie Purviance/Cooks with Books Event

Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur, in association with Book Passage bookstore and the Cooks with Books program, will host a Sunday, June 11 dinner with Jamie Purviance, the author of the newly released Weber’s Greatest Hits: 125 Classic Recipes for Every Grill. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be priced at $115.00 per person ($185.00 per couple) which includes the meal, wine, tax, gratuity and a signed copy of the book (couples package includes one book to share). The event kicks off with a book signing with Jamie Purviance, followed by a sit down meal prepared by Chef de Cuisine Fabrice Marcon, inspired by the author's cookbook. Jamie will be on hand throughout the evening to discuss the book, as well as answer guest questions.
The menu will include Zesty Garlic Shrimp (page 38), Filet Mignon Crostini with Balsamic Onion Jam (page 45), Grilled Romaine Salad with Caesar Dressing (page 48), Salmon Filet with Roasted Corn, Tomato, and Avocado Salsa (page 242) with Charred Asparagus with Basil Lime Dipping Sauce (page 182) and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake (page 294).
The paperback book, designed for beginners and veterans alike, draws on Weber's collection of more than 2,000 recipes complied over decades and includes all-new photography, entertaining stories about the company's history and special features such as the top ten grilling do's and don’ts.
Author Jamie Purviance, one of America's top grilling experts, graduated from Stanford University and the Culinary Institute of America before launching a career as a food writer for publications such as Bon Appetit, Better Homes & Gardens, Fine Cooking, Town & Country and the Los Angeles Times. He has written numerous cookbooks including Weber's Way to Grill, a James Beard Award nominee and New York Times best seller. Purviance has appeared as a grilling authority on numerous television shows including Today, The Early Show, Good Morning America, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
