On Tuesday, March 15 at 7 PM the Monterey Bay Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society at the Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange, 1900 17th. Avenue, Santa Cruz, California 95062, will feature a program by Don White on “Bonsai 101: Azaleas”, a demonstration converting a potted azalea into a bonsai specimen.
Don White, a member of the Watsonville Bonsai Club and the Santa Cruz Bonsai Kai Club, been creating bonsai for over 35 years, and became interested in bonsai in 1960 while stationed in the army in Korea.
Don White has given bonsai demonstrations in Santa Cruz, Watsonville, and Corralitos.
During the program, Don White will explain why we prune a certain way to create the outline of the tree and to maintain it
