Le Colonial 21st Anniversary Celebration Tiki Attire Contest on July 18

Le Colonial, in conjunction with their month-long 21st anniversary celebration, will be hosting on Thursday, July 18 in the 721 Lounge a Tiki attire contest with judging at 7:30 p.m. The five guests with the most creative outfits will each receive a $100.00 gift certificate to dine at the restaurant. Admission is free with an RSVP via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/we-are-finally-legal-join-us-to-celebrate-our-21st-anniversary-tiki-party-tickets-64406875699. More details can be found at https://www.lecolonialsf.com.

For 21 years, Le Colonial has exemplified why San Francisco is a world-class destination dining city. The restaurant’s acclaimed Vietnamese dishes with French colonial flair are prepared by Chef Tuan Phan, a native of Ho Chi Min City, and are complemented by first rate service. In homage to such a notable milestone and to the legendary Trader Vic’s (the previous occupant of the venue), there is a Tiki party taking place in the restaurant’s 721 Lounge throughout the month of July. Tiki cocktails and traditional Polynesian dishes are featured at mahalo prices, plus there is a cocktail tasting booth that features a different weekly rotating spirit.

To complement their menu, Le Colonial offers an international wine list that has more than 200 selections, of which about 20 are available by the glass. The list is comprised of French and domestic vintages, plus wines from Chile, Argentina, New Zealand and elsewhere. The full bar’s cocktail menu showcases classic, contemporary and original libations.

The atmosphere at Le Colonial evokes the elegance of Vietnam in the 1920’s. From the mosaic-like tile flooring, the vaulted pressed-tin ceiling, the shuttered windows, the plush rattan furniture, and the tropical plants, all accented by the glow of candlelight, the restaurant feels as if it was transported here from many generations ago and 10,000 miles away. Vintage black and white photographs of life at the turn of the century adorn the walls, while ceiling fans gently stir the air. In addition to the intimate main dining area, the upstairs bar and lounge at Le Colonial provides a relaxed salon ambiance with its faded oriental rugs, decorative bamboo birdcages, low wood tables and comfortable couches. The lounge is appropriate for tea, cocktails, appetizers or casual dining.

Le Colonial is located at 20 Cosmo Place between Sutter and Post and Jones and Taylor. The restaurant is open nightly for dinner, Sunday through Wednesday from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday, 5:30 to 11:00 p.m. Valet parking is available. 721 Lounge at Le Colonial is located at 721 Sutter Street in San Francisco and is open nightly, Sunday and Monday from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight and on Friday and Saturday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Visit Le Colonial on the web at https://www.lecolonialsf.com.
