For Jamel Lee, it all comes from emotion. Whether it's the swing of a hi-hat or an unexpected key transition, these musical elements all serve one purpose to him---to make the listener feel something. It's through manipulation of these fundamentals that gives him the unique ability to truly take the crowd on a journey. While comfortable with any genre, you'll most likely find his psych & shoegaze influences bleeding into his sound... where he pays homage to the deep & dreamy, the dark and the uplifting sides of dance music; these are the magical moments that he searches for and constantly seeks to bring to his audience.
A classically-trained musician, Jamel Lee has been involved with music all his life. After growing up playing piano and guitar, he dabbled in heavy metal and folk music before landing squarely in the welcoming arms of psychedelic rock and synthwave.
After his relocation from NY to the Bay Area, Jamel aided in bringing the brainchild of Cole Odin (Das Sind Wir) to life as a founding member and keyboard / synthesist. Titled "Ownership", the 6-person project could be compared to The Verve, if they went on an acid trip with LCD Soundsystem and met M83 in their collective hallucinations. Contributing members included the SF-grown, Berlin-based techno producer & DJ Jamaica Suk (Gradient) as well as musician-composer Achint Thakkar of Bombay, whose debut album 'Shalimar' was nominated for Best Non Film Debut at the Global Indian Music Academy (GIMA) awards.
After the band amicably parted ways, Jamel soon found solace in the San Francisco underground house & techno scene. Along with founder Scott Hatfield (SMB, Household), Jamel helped run the Simple Minded Beats radio show and manage the 13-person crew right up until its retirement in mid-2019, after 5 years running. Its mission was to showcase and unite Bay Area DJs and producers, sharing in a collective love for all forms of house and techno.
Since then, Jamel has played some of the most visible venues at the forefront of the San Francisco club scene such as Halcyon, The Great Northern, The Midway, Public Works SF, Monarch, Temple, and The EndUp. His atmospheric sets have captured the attention of SF promoters, granting him the privilege of sharing bills with artists including Lee Burridge, Yoko0, Jan Blomqvist, Rodriguez Jr., Butch, Audiojack, HOSH, Joyce Muniz, Tara Brooks, Brett Johnson, ALINKA, and scores of hometown heroes.
2021 will mark a return to form for the multi-disciplined artist, who has begun mastering on original productions ranging from deep & spacey tech house to more progressive compositions featuring spoken word and uplifting synth-work.
***ALLY AF***

Once upon a time(around November 2017) in the quiet town of Campbell, California, a quiet, socially awkward girl named Ally(who couldn't even dance) was put behind the decks in her friends garage, and as soon as those headphones came on, she was hooked.
From that day on she honed her skills, playing any chance she got, and as her ability grew, so did her confidence. Suddenly, she caught herself doing her own little bounce and wiggle behind the booth. All of the sudden, she was confident enough to play out at clubs!
Ally is still slowly evolving her style, playing Disco, Slutty Tech House, and Dark Moody Techno, depending on her mood. Over the last few years she has been lucky enough to play events with David Harness, Mood II Swing, NIck Monaco, and Jozif. She has also had the pleasure of playing The Black Skull Carnival, and Outerlimits Festivals.
She has recently joined the Common Ground Crew, as well as the all female team of Supervixen, and is excited for whatever comes next.

Mark Johns has been a DJ and visual artist since 1991, getting his start in San Jose at Club F/X.
He began doing multi-image projection shows (now called VJ'ing) for underground parties in the Bay Area such as Rave Called Sharon, Destiny, The Gathering, Toontown, By the People, Stompy, and many more.

Mark continues to DJ and VJ making guest appearances around the bay and has resident VJ gigs with Stompy/Sunset, Salted, and Green Gorilla Lounge.

WELCOME. At this site, you'll find the musical musings of COLE ODIN... in the form of current solo work, previous bands, DJ mixes, DJ edits/tools, and maybe even a future opus or two.
COLE ODIN (Ownership) was raised to the pulse of the twin hearts of the San Francisco Bay Area... a gritty underground DJ scene, and the blinding light of a rock and roll stage. A gigging and writing multi-instrumentalist of over 25 years, his music is inspired by arm hairs on end, uncontrollable smiles, and the concept of a song you can't take off repeat. Since compatible comparison is justifiably needed by some to draw them into something new, the sounds of COLE ODIN's music can be traced from a variety of influences into a new hybrid of moving music. Some (sonic) examples might be... THE VERVE, COBBLESTONE JAZZ, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, KAUF, AMEN DUNES, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, BILL WITHERS, FLAMING LIPS, EDDIE C, TAME IMPALA, RUB 'N TUG, M83, HOLY FUCK, SPIRITUALIZED, TOOL, PSYCHEMAGIK, SINEAD O'CONNOR, ANIMAL COLLECTIVE, SPOON, PRINCE, JANE'S ADDICTION, NITZER EBB, TODD TERJE, LORDE, FUCK BUTTONS, DJ HARVEY, FATHER JOHN MISTY, AND MANY, MANY MORE... As a DJ of nearly 20 years, his versatile style of moving through genre, tempo and mood is also reflected by looking at the selectors that influenced his desire to create the set as one long song- Thomas Bullock (and all the Wicked Crew), Solar, Eddie C, DJ Three, DJ Spun, Young Marco, Charlotte the Baroness, DJ Harvey, Karizma, the DJs of LDP, and the too-long-to-list roster of local badassery the Bay Area is known for around the world. His first solo release, "Dawn's Approaching", is out on Das Sind Wir records in November.
