LB Steak on Santana Row in San Jose will be celebrating Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18, with the addition of a la carte food and beverage specials highlighting the cuisine of the Baltimore, Maryland area. The regular brunch/lunch and dinner menus will also be available.
The Preakness Stakes additions, served from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., will be a Black Eyed Susan for $9.00 with vodka, whisky, housemade sweet and sour, and fresh orange juice; bar snacks (available at the bar and on the patio only) consisting of Chesapeake Bay Seasoned Shrimp for $6.00, plus Blue Crab Dip with crusty bread for $ 6.00; Maryland Lump Crab Cakes for $15.00 with celery and sweet pepper slaw, and red pepper aïoli; Soft shell Crab Muffaletta for $15.00 (served 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) with pickled tomato and onion relish, watercress and seasoned fries; Maryland Striped Bass (served beginning at 4:00 p.m.) for $35.00 with sweet corn and crab stew, Lundberg Family Farms rice pilaf and lima beans; and Smith Island 10 Layer Cake for $6.00 with almond flour cake and milk chocolate frosting.
Ordering from the Preakness Stakes menu will also afford guests the opportunity to place a “bet†(prior to the race time) in the LB Stakes, a playful spin on horse race gambling, and then possibly win a range of prizes including a two-night stay at an upscale hotel, luxury spa and beauty treatments, complimentary meals, and other food-related goodies. The restaurant will be decorated in the spirit of the occasion and the staff will be festively attired.
This will be the second of three LB Steak hosted events celebrating the major races in the U.S. thoroughbred racing Triple Crown (the Kentucky Derby on May 4, the Preakness Stakes on May 18, and the Belmont Stakes on June 8).
