LB Steak in Menlo Park will host a Filipino Heritage Night dinner on Thursday, July 25 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with open seating continuing until 10:00 p.m. The $45.00 prix fixe meal will be served family style with all dishes except dessert brought to the table at once. The restaurant's Chef de Cuisine, Brendy Monsada, has created a menu designed to showcase and celebrate his ethnic heritage. Appetizers will include Crispy Lumpia Wraps stuffed with ground pork and a medley of vegetables, with sweet and sour dipping sauce; stir fried Rice Bihon Noodles with soy, shrimp, snow peas, julienned carrots, celery, green onion, quail egg and kalamansi juice; and brined and grilled Pork Belly and Pig Ears with mayonnaise, kalamansi juice and soy ginger vinaigrette.
The entrées, served with garlic steamed rice, will be slow braised Short Ribs with Caldereta spice mix, sweet peas, pearl onions and savory tomato sauce; slow charcoal-roasted Crispy Pork, served with mang tomas dipping sauce and LB Steak BBQ sauce; and Organic Chicken Drumsticks, slow braised in tamarind and ginger broth, with Asian beans.
For dessert, diners can enjoy sweetened fruits and vegetables with evaporated milk and purple ube yam ice cream; and crispy skewered Rice Balls with coconut caramel sauce and aromatic coconut flakes.
Non-alcoholic fresh kalamansi juice as well as and chilled coconut juice with coconut pulp will also be included with the dinner.
