Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill to Host a Rombauer Vineyards Paired Wine Dinner
Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill in Oakland will host a Rombauer Vineyards wine paired dinner on Wednesday, August 30 from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. Guests will be able to enjoy five courses, four of which will be paired with Rombauer wines by the glass curated by Executive Culinary Director Charlie Weintraub. The prix fixe meal is priced at $110.00 per person excluding tax, city health surcharge, ticketing fee, and gratuity. In the restaurant's Gondola Room, with panoramic lakeside views of Lake Merritt and the sunset, the evening will begin with a Rombauer 2022 Sauvignon Blanc and Day Boat Scallop Crudo with stone fruit chili crisp and charred snap peas followed by a Rombauer 2022 Carneros Chardonnay and Drunken Lobster Tempura with butter ponzu and furikake. Next will be a Rombauer 2019 Napa Valley Merlot and Five Spiced Liberty Duck Breast with Calrose sushi rice risotto, braised chard, and cherry jus and then a 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and oak grilled A5 Wagyu Ribeye Cap with Sancho peppercorn au poivre and Pont Neuf potato. The meal will conclude with a Frog Hollow Peach Cobbler with goat cheese ice cream and a cocktail pairing of gin, basil, elderflower, lemon, and orange bitters.
