Lake Chalet Hosts 3rd Annual "Oktoberfest on the Lake" with Souvenir Stoneware Steins and 30 Piece Band
Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill in Oakland hosts their third annual "Oktoberfest on the Lake" celebration on Saturday, September 30th. Tickets sold online, priced at $25.00, include a limited edition stoneware stein filled with a liter of beer and guaranteed entry (last two years sold out). Fill your stein with your choice of Oktoberfest Lager, Regatta Red Ale, or Lake Chalet's signature Lady of the Lake Blonde Ale. Stein refills only $12.00. There will be live musical entertainment on the Chalet dock from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. performed by Deutscher Musikverein, a 30 piece traditional German "oom-pah" band, plus sing-alongs of famous German songs like "Ein-Prosit" every half hour. Interactive games are new this year, and led by the German band (stein-holding contests, yodeling contests, and even a costume contest).
Complementing the musical entertainment and the specialty Chalet brews will be the availability of menu items in the spirit of the occasion like Housemade German Soft Pretzel Sticks, and Beer-Braised Beef Brisket Sliders, Crispy Pork Shank Confit, Pork Schnitzel Meatballs and more. Executive Chef Serafin Cruz will be offering a variety of traditional German Oktoberfest foods with a local East Bay twist. Servers dressed up as Bavarian barmaids will add to the festivities, along with lederhosen for the gentlemen and Lake Chalet decorated for a full Oktoberfest festival.
