In this in-person social event at the fantastic new bar, Persona, you'll learn about the origins of mezcal, taste a variety of mezcal types from a variety of makers and botanical origins, and have a chance to avail yourself to some refreshing cocktails & snacks. It's a celebration of Mexican Independence Day (September 16)! Plus you'll learn more about spirits and your own preferences. Your ticket will give you access to four sections of the event:
Making Mezcal - Dr Inkwell's Presentation

Did you know that mezcal is one of the most diverse and least sustainable spirits on the planet? Dr Inkwell will give a brief presentation to reveal the origins of this sacred spirit: how it came to be, its botanical and legal definitions, a guide as to how to pick and choose between brands, and what to expect from the esoteric stuff. Plus we'll have words from our special guests who will be bringing their favorite bottles to share at the event.

We'll have a range of mezcals on hand so you can taste a variety of expressions. You've probably had espadin, but have you tried salmiella, cuishe, or tepextate? At our tasting bar you can learn about each type and where it comes from. Our special guests will also be on hand to take you on a deeper journey about some of our selections.

Do you love one of the bottles you tasted? For this event, we'll be able to offer on site sales! Take home that bottle you love. Many of our bottles will be difficult-to-find, exclusive, or just incredible spirits to enjoy and share.

Bar Manager Oscar Sinisterra and the geniuses at Persona have formulated some delicious cocktails for purchase during the event.
