La Boheme (1926)

SEE EVENT DETAILS

Directed by King Vidor | Lillian Gish, John Gilbert
Rodolphe is an ambitious but poor playwright struggling to make his mark. Mimi is the seamstress who lives next door, and becomes Rodolphe’s love and muse. The heartbreaking story of jealous Rodolphe and delicate, self-sacrificing Mimi is well known to fans of Puccini’s opera and is effectively adapted in this King Vidor silent film with John Gilbert and Lillian Gish. Also starring Renee Adoree as the brash Musette, and the reliably villainous Roy D’Arcy as Vicomte Paul. Vidor didn’t change the ending. Bring at least three handkerchiefs.
