Join us for the first KQED Silicon Valley Conversation, a brand-new event series featuring discussions with some of the most well-known and rising figures in Silicon Valley. The evening's topic is The New Experts: How Robotics, AI, and Automation Are Shaping the Future of Your Work. It will take place at SFJAZZ Center on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 pm.

Tonya Mosely, KQED's Silicon Valley Bureau Chief will ask our experts about how AI and automation have already changed how we shop, drive, and work. The panel will delve into specifics of what those changes will look like and how we can prepare each generation for the skills needed as we continue to see these technologies in our workplaces and lives.

Moderator

Tonya Mosley is the senior Silicon Valley editor for KQED based out of San Jose. Prior to KQED, Tonya served as a television reporter & anchor for several media outlets, including Al Jazeera America and KING 5 News in Seattle, WA.

The Experts

Brian Solis is Principal Analyst and Futurist at Altimeter, the digital analyst group at Prophet and has been called one of the greatest digital analysts of our time by CMOs and CEOs of top brands. Additionally, Brian is an award-winning author of seven best-selling books including X: The Experience When Business Meets Design, What's the Future of Business (WTF) and The End of Business as Usual.

Michael Chui is a partner at the McKinsey Global Institute. He leads research on the impact of disruptive technologies and innovation on business, the economy, and society.

Karen Myers, Ph.D., is a program director and principal scientist in SRI International's Artificial Intelligence Center, where she leads a team focused on developing intelligent systems that facilitate man-machine collaboration. Her research interests include autonomy, multi-agent systems, automated planning and scheduling, personalization technologies, and mixed-initiative problem-solving.
