KNBR and City National Bank are proud to announce WILLIE MCCOVEY will be the guest of honor at our next “Dinner with a Legend”.
And there are very few legends bigger than “Big Mac”.
He played 19 seasons in the Majors. He hit 521 home runs. He was legendary for going 4-4 with two triples and two singles in his Major League debut against Hall of Fame Pitcher Robin Roberts. In 1986, in his first year of eligibility, McCovey joined Roberts and other legends enshrined in Cooperstown.
He was a 6-time All Star, NL Rookie of the Year, 3-time Home Run leader, and the Giants retired his famous number 44.
