The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. In this class, we will learn how to meditate, the benefits of meditation, and various meditations that will calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.

July 10th - Meditation on Inspiration, Tomoko Saeki
Sometimes we have days when nothing seems to work out, which can leave us feeling stuck and hopeless on those days when nothing seems to work out.. By meditating on the simple but powerful mantra of all Buddhas, we can swiftly and easily cultivate a positive mind of inspiration.
July 17 Meditation on Cherishing Others, Tomoko Saeki
Learning to cherish others is the best method for establishing world peace in general, and our own peace of mind in particular. By cultivating the mind of cherishing others, we can become like a magic crystal that removes negativity from the world and fosters peace.
July 24 Meditation on Taking Away Suffering, Tomoko Saeki
When we feel powerless in the face of extreme suffering in the world, there are actually many things we can do with our mind to help. Through engaging in this meditation, we can gradually heal ourselves and others from suffering and negativity.

Everyone, regardless of their level of experience or background, can benefit from the classes & courses offered in the General Program. It is a highly accessible program designed to address everyday problems with simple and practical advice that makes sense according to our daily experience.
These classes and courses provide a basic introduction to Buddhist teachings and meditations. Through these we can learn how to use Buddha's advice as a solution to our daily problems. In this way we come to experience a sense of peace and happiness in our lives.
Everyone is welcome - you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend. These classes are suitable for beginners and advanced meditators.
