KMC SF - Meditate & Be Happy - Meditation Class - Mondays 6:30pm October
A short meditation on your way home, or out!
KMC SF drop-in classes provide a basic introduction to Buddhist teachings and meditations. In this way we come to experience a sense of peace and happiness in our lives. In this class, we will learn how to meditate, the benefits of meditation, and various meditations that will help to calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.
Everyone is welcome - you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend. These classes are suitable for beginners and advanced meditators.
Oct 2: Meditation on Inspiration
Sometimes we have days when nothing seems to work out, which can leave us feeling stuck and hopeless. By meditating on the simple but powerful mantra of all Buddhas, we can swiftly and easily cultivate a positive mind of inspiration.
Oct 9: Meditation on Cherishing Others
Learning to cherish others is the best method for establishing world peace in general, and our own peace of mind in particular. By cultivating the mind of cherishing others, we can become like a magic crystal that removes negativity from the world and fosters peace.
Oct 16: Meditation on Taking Away Sufferings
When we feel powerless in the face of extreme suffering in the world, there are actually many things we can do with our mind to help. Meditating on taking away suffering can gradually help heal ourselves and others.
Oct 23: Meditation on Giving Happiness
Everyone wishes to be happy and be free from suffering. Meditating on love nurtures our potential to give everlasting happiness to those we care about, and eventually to all living beings.
