Karl Ove Knausgaard makes a rare West Coast appearance to discuss the concluding volume of his My Struggle series – described by The Guardian as "perhaps the most significant literary enterprise of our time." Karl Ove Knausgaard was born in Norway in 1968. His debut novel Out of This World won the Norwegian Critics Prize in 2004 and his A Time for Everything was a finalist for the Nordic Council Prize. His epic, six-part, 3,600-page autobiographical novel, My Struggle is a New York Times Best Seller and has been translated into more than fifteen languages. The final volume, Book Six, will be published in the United States in September 2018.


Lydia Kiesling is the editor of The Millions, where she has been writing reviews, essays, and the semi-regular Modern Library Revue since 2009. Her writing has appeared at a variety of outlets including The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, The Guardian, and Slate, and was recognized in Best American Essays 2016. Her debut novel, The Golden State, is forthcoming from Farrar, Straus & Giroux’s MCD imprint.
