Local favorites, K Mello and The Undecided, are hailed by Monterey Bay area music promoter (and talented musician), Kiki Wow as, “THE Best Dance Band Ever! ...so come on out and see the modern day Janis Joplin and her band really jammin' it up.... Dance Bands don’t get any better than this one! I absolutely love this group of local musicians, totally capable from the first note on. Bring your friends and prepare to dance the night away. There’s no holding back with this group.” ~ May 2011
The unDecided is a spirited 5-piece rock band based out of Carmel Valley, CA delivering primarily classic rock without restraints of genre. The unDecided is fronted by unpredictably heartrending and/or irreverent lead singer K Mello (formerly of Wild Reverence), renowned for her astonishingly powerful, expressive vocals and high-energy performances. Solid foundation for the band’s diverse rhythmic repertoire is adeptly laid down by both talented veteran “GrinMeister” Mike Mahoney on drums (and backing vocals) and by the energetic and aptly-named Riddle on bass guitar (and backing vocals). The gifted Don MacVicar plays rhythm guitar, sings backing vocals, and contributes a number of noteworthy guitar solos. Any one of the back-up vocalists is likely to step up and sing lead, meanwhile Irv Hartford, playing lead guitar, demonstrates undoubtedly that the hand is indeed quicker than the eye. Irv, Mike, and Riddle were former long-time members of The DooDads, a hugely popular band that played the area for a decade. The unDecided get countless compliments on their song selections which include a wide range of favorites from Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Doobies, Talking Heads, Dylan, the Who, and Zeppelin to Susan Tedeschi, 4 Non-Blonds, Journey, Stray Cats, Joan Osborne, Tom Petty, Jefferson Airplane, and Janis.
The unDecided are a captivating, feel-good band that consistently infect audiences with their rampant joy of music and frequently compel spontaneous sing-a-longs. They’ll rock you right out of your seat onto the dance floor and leave you with a silly-grin hangover.
