Take a break from holiday shopping and baking to celebrate a beloved ballet and a life spent in dance. Once upon a time, literary curator (and Lit Crawl SF co-director) Janine Kovac was a professional dancer. Her new memoir, The Nutcracker Chronicles, intertwines the familiar story of Clara and her prince with Janine's own story of coming of age in dance--and eventually stepping away from the spotlight and embracing new roles of her own. Like all fairytales, Janine's story has moments of darkness but a happy ending--whether you're an aspiring memoirist, a recovering dancer, or a balletomane, you'll find something to appreciate in its pages. Join us for an evening of good conversation (led by Litquake co-founder Jane Ganahl), great company, and seasonal surprises--including your own opportunity to waltz with the flowers. A perfect evening to spend with friends! $15 ($12 early bird)
