Jack London Square, one of the Bay Area's top dining, recreation and commercial districts (www.jacklondonsquare.com), invites the community to attend the center's spectacular tree lighting event to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 11th, in the Plaza near Plank. The event, sponsored by KTVU-TV, will include the lighting of a 55-foot Shasta Fir tree facilitated by Santa Claus himself and emceed by Gasia Mikaelian, anchor of the KTVU-TV "Mornings on 2" morning news. Immediately following the tree lighting will be the center's first-ever laser light show set to festive, crowd-pleasing holiday music. The light show, which takes place at 6:15 p.m. and again at 7 p.m., will feature multi-colored laser beams shining in all directions. And, no matter what the weatherman predicts for Oakland that evening, Jack London Square will experience the wonder of a beautiful white snowfall as faux snow cascades from the sky to give attendees the full holiday experience. This event is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit
