SF Bay Area Joins Global Day of Action for Just Peace in Israel and Palestine
On May 3, Bay Area Peace Activists will gather at Lake Merritt Amphitheater in Oakland for an afternoon of collective creativity supporting a vision of peace and justice in Israel and Palestine. This event will be one of more than 20 coordinated solidarity actions taking place across North America, Europe, and Australia in solidarity with the "It's Time People's Peace Summit" in Jerusalem. The afternoon will include Palestinian, Israeli & American speakers as well as live music and a large-scale community protest art project.

The event is organized by SFBay4Peace and SF BayArea Friends of Standing Together and is free and open to all. Attendees will be encouraged to wear purple (the color of both groups) and to refrain from bringing flags.
BACKGROUND
The Oakland rally will support the May 8-9 "It's Time" People's Peace Summit in Jerusalem, organized by a coalition of over sixty Israeli peace and civil society organizations, uniting Jewish and Palestinian leaders, members, and partners, including Standing Together, Women Wage Peace, and others. Our movement is a joint call against the Israeli government's relentless campaigns of war and occupation and for a shared future of equality, peace, and social justice.

SFBay4Peace is a network led by Israeli peace activists in the San Francisco Bay area. Since January 2024, they have been building pro-humanity bridges of solidarity by organizing vigils, rallies, dialogue circles and public art actions.
