at LP HQ, 7th Floor (see times)
Investing wisely is essential to creating longterm wealth and making the most of your investment goals. We will go over the building blocks of a portfolio, risk management, gain an understanding of which investments are most appropriate for you, what strategies make the most sense and how best to execute them.

In this session, the instructor, Molly Newborn, will cover the essential components of your financial picture to make sure you are in the optimal setup. We will discuss retirement accounts (401(k)s, IRAs), brokerage accounts, executive compensation (RSUs, stock options) and cash on the side. We will cover how one might get started in this vast world of investing, and key items Molly checks when meeting with new clients to help get them positioned appropriately.

About the instructor:

Molly has an interesting and distinctive background. She worked for several years as a research scientist in cellular and molecular neurobiology at UCLA. The global financial crisis of 2008 fueled her desire to study the financial markets and develop an understanding of responsible and comprehensive financial planning. Molly completed an MBA specializing in Investment Management at McGill University in Montreal.

She worked in institutional investments at Deutsche Asset Management and as a biotech investment consultant for a hedge fund prior to embarking on a career as a Financial Advisor. She holds both the Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses in addition to California Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance Licenses (CA Insurance #OL50365). Molly conducts weekly seminars for the Apple Investment Club and the Apple Women in Engineering Club.
