This fun one-day workshop is a great introduction to encaustic painting and working with beeswax medium. The workshop will examine approaches to using colored wax, paper, tissue papers and embedding objects into the wax. We will address heating, fusing, and manipulating wax, as well as the use of color, brushes and where to find materials. You will be able to take home at least 1 to 3 finished pieces that are 5 x 7 inches.
All supplies are included in the cost of the class. Supplies include wooden panels, papers and wax medium. You are welcome to bring your own collage materials if you wish but note that shiny, plasticized surfaces or heavy items will not work. Participants receive a 10% discount at ARCH for any materials purchased the day of the class.
