Come celebrate International Bacon Day with Memphis Minnie’s. A day to celebrate all things Bacon, Bacon and Bacon. Started in 2000 in Bedford, MA by three grad students it is now celebrated around the world. We will be celebrating with a long list of bacon special and some surprises for those in the know. Would Bacon wrapped Bacon be out of the question?
The bacon-filled menu includes:
The Elvis – A griddled peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich
Bacon Mac & Cheese – Bacon in the roux, bacon in the sauce, and bacon in the cornbread topping
Bacon-wrapped Tofu – Tofu marinated in BBQ sauce, wrapped in bacon, smoked and deep fried
Chicken Fried Bacon – Two strips of smoked bacon double-dipped in seasoned cornmeal, fried, and topped with bacon gravy.
Candied Pork Belly – Extra-thick cut bacon coated in maple syrup, brown sugar and seasonings, baked, and then grilled
Caramel Bacon Popcorn – Two kinds of popcorn — one seasoned with savory white rub, one coated in bacon caramel sauce — tossed together
