How to Develop Confidence: A Workshop with Lynne Henderson

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Confidence goes a long way towards achieving professional and personal goals. Feeling a lack of confidence or experiencing "situational shyness" can be relieved by learning new behaviors to challenge automatic thoughts and beliefs.
This workshop provides the opportunity to develop your social fitness. Social fitness increases your capabilities in demanding social situations in the same way physical fitness increases your capabilities in demanding physical situations.  As with physical exercise, there are many ways to exercise socially, and many different kinds of situations in which to practice and find enjoyment.  A person may change behavior and attitudes, become more skilled at emotion regulation, or choose a more compatible social niche in order to attain improved conditioning. With effort and practice, most people can attain social fitness the same way that most people can attain physical fitness. Working in groups allows us to see our common humanity, observe and experiment with different approaches, share and support each other and have fun!  Lynne Henderson, PhD is the creator of Social Fitness Training and Chief Curriculum Officer of Courageous Leadership, LLC. Lynne is also the author of The Compassionate Mind Guide to Building Social Confidence.
As the Chief Curriculum Officer at Courageous Leadership, LLC, Lynne is translating her Social Fitness Training, a cognitive behavioral model developed over 25 years, into structured exercises that facilitate skillful courageous conversations in stressful situations, as well as mindfulness, perspective taking, gratitude, empathy, fostering a growth mindset, compassion, and forgiveness. Structured exercises facilitate compassion for the self and others while engaging in the ongoing process of building courageous and resilient individual and team practices and cultures.
This event is part of the How to Series. Purchase series tickets here.
