This Valentine’s Day weekend, the creative community that manifested Faetopia and Zombie Christ are creating an even more frightening affair – the Horrors of Love Haunted House. Teaming up with the Center for Sex and Culture, artists have created a labyrinth filled with interactive performance and visual arts tableaus that will awe and appall. It’s an artistic chimera exploring the sinister and sometimes sadistic sides of love, in the typically hilarious flare of the radical faeries and queerdos of the Bay.
Your tour through the Horrors of Love Haunted House will take you into the strange and haunting spaces of the heart… and groin. During your journey, you’ll have to survive syphilitic zombies, make your way out of the clutching halls of co-dependency, past the spirits of patriarchal submission, through the forest of scorned lesbians, encountering man-eaters, incubi, and deranged cupids along the way. And, that’s just the beginning. Whether you are single, straight, poly-, pansexual, married, gay, other, or all the Horrors of Love will surely woo you over - no sexuality or sentiment will be left sacred.
The haunted house will be open Friday and Saturday nights from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Admission for the events is $10-20, No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds (NOTAFLOF), with funds raised supporting the Center for Sex and Culture and Calamus, a radical faerie fellowship.
