at Santa Cruz County Fair Grounds (see times)
You’re invited to the Honey Bee Hoedown, The Agricultural History Project’s Annual Harvest Dinner to celebrate community, agriculture, and the fall harvest on Saturday, November 9, 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds outside Watsonville. Tickets are $60 purchased by November 5.

“Our theme this year is Honey Bee Hoedown and we’re featuring exhibits from the Pacific Crest Apiaries and Wall Bee Hive on the importance of bees in food production – a timely topic! We have a lot of interest in the wonderful prizes in the raffle and the auctions, especially the weekend for 6 at a Pajaro Dunes Beach House and a Ghost Hunt and Dinner at the Tuttle Mansion,” said Bridget Smith, co-organizer along with Sharon Feuerborn for the event this year.

Bluegrass music by Sage Brush Band will kick off the party at 5:30pm and at 7:00pm Ken Schwan of Monterey Bay Caterers will be serving up a gourmet dinner featuring several entrees with all the trimmings! Festivities include the raffles, a fabulous silent auction, and an exciting live auction featuring the entertaining Terry Medina as auctioneer – you won’t want to miss the traditional auction calling mixed with comedy.

“This is our most popular event of the year. Everyone always has fun and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing,” said John Kegebein, Director of the Agricultural History Project.

Prizes in this year’s auctions include the weekend for 6 at a Pajaro Dunes Beach House, the Ghost Hunt and Dinner at the Tuttle Mansion, a wild game dinner for 8, and a 4-H Team to do your favorite honey-do projects!

The Harvest Dinner is an annual fundraising event for the Agricultural History Project.

The key contribution of the Agricultural History Project is to help our community leverage all that we have learned from our agricultural past to solve our current problems and build a better future by preserving and protecting the stories and artifacts of California’s farming and ranching communities.
